We are looking for a Graduate who has the desire to succeed and passion to re-invent the wheel. You will have a degree in electrical engineering which has involved some software engineering and put these skills to good use in projects you would have done whilst at University and out on placements preferably in a modern engineering or manufacturing environment. You must be academically strong with the desire to learn and pick up new skills, it would be desirable if are using or used LabView


Working in a team of experienced engineers you will report to the Lead Test and Development Engineer to help design and implement test solutions in support of the engineering design function

The role is located in Andover, Hampshire 


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design test systems in support of design verification activities across the product lifecycle.
  • Devise test equipment specifications and methodology from written and oral instruction.
  • Plan, specify and implement test systems to achieve design verification activities on time.
  • Create test systems for a wide range of complex electromechanical systems. Units under test shall include, mechanical, electromagnetic, electronic and control elements.
  • Develop LabVIEW and PLC based test control systems.
  • Specify appropriate sensors, actuators and data acquisition equipment.
  • Produce test system design, schematics and harness drawings using appropriate 2D CAD drawing packages.
  • Produce version controlled drawing packs suitable for manufacture, installation and maintenance of test equipment.
  • Monitor test progress and communicate effectively to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate test logs and conduct data analysis.
  • Construct test equipment hardware including: prototype electrical circuits, control boxes and harnesses.
  • Debug complex electromechanical test systems.
  • Pro-actively assist with the mechanical construction and assembly of test equipment.
  • Provide instruction and operator test equipment training.
  • Use of, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other company specific applications i.e. Purchase Order System.
  • Work in accordance with Stannah Stairlifts ISO9001 Quality Assurance Systems.
  • Work in accordance with the company health & safety policies in all that we do in order that we protect ourselves and others from any risk of harm
  • Work in accordance with the requirements of the company’s environmental standard


The Person: 

  • Qualified to degree level in engineering discipline or demonstrable experience.
  • Experienced in the use of: LabVIEW, PLCs, oscilloscopes, muliti-meters, etc.
  • Experienced in a modern engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels. This includes written reports and presentation skills.
  • Self-disciplined with regard to work deadlines and prioritisation.
  • Strong character with the ability to drive and motivate people.
  • A can do attitude with drive and determination to take the department and team forward.
