Reporting to the Production Manager, you will work within a highly motivated frontline team.  The main objective of the role is to continuously review processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improving productivity, quality and cost reductions.


You will provide day-to-day support for the Newburn Manufacturing and will ensure QCD (quality, cost, delivery) targets are achieved.  You will support new product introduction and act as technical liaison between the manufacturing and support functions.


Ideal candidates will have previous experience of working within an original equipment manufacturer environment. Good analytical and organisational skills will be important and you will also be fully experienced in using modern problem solving tools and techniques. A good understanding of engineering drawings is essential, as is CAD experience.    


A good standard of computer literacy will be essential, together with excellent communication skills.  The ability to influence positively at all levels of the business will be fundamental to the role.  Previous experience of Lean Manufacturing would be a distinct advantage supported by a broad knowledge of jigs and fixtures, fabrication or assembly processes.


  • Provide ongoing support for day-to-day technical process issues in a production environment.
  • Lead continuous process improvement activities.
  • Good understanding of quality assurance, preventing mistakes & delivering solutions to customers
  • Generate & maintain PFMEAs. R/Ass, WIS
  • Support preventative action activities by applying recognized problem-solving techniques and tools.
  • Support the development & maintenance of manufacturing documentation & tooling.
  • Support & initiate engineering design change requests.
  • Support the investigation & introduction of new technologies and equipment.
  • Create & maintain standard work costs and conduct process time studies.


HNC/HND or equivalent education level and/or 3+ years experience within a manufacturing engineering environment
