    We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join our Facilities Management team here at Stannah headquarters based in Andover. As part of the SMS Facilities department the purpose of this role is to provide a service to the Stannah companies to maintain their buildings where required.



    Responsible for the electrical upkeep of supported properties, this includes installation, testing, maintenance and repair of industrial and domestic electrical services and associated equipment, including three phase 400v systems. You will also be required to provide electrical support for property projects.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Undertake electrical installations, alterations and repairs as required, including responsibility for ensuring that SMS Portable Appliance Testing and fixed wire testing schedules are kept up to date.
    • Provide electrical support for projects, minor works and alterations to existing installations.
    • Contribute to the schedule for asset monitoring and record keeping.
    • Contribute to the completion of repair jobs.
    • Maintain all electrical stock levels, plant and equipment, completing maintenance checks and maintaining compliance documentation.
    • Provide back up support, as required, for IT data cabling across UK sites.
    • Ensure compliance with Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work (RAMS), and support the Health & Safety Coordinator with the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
    • Support the appointed security company with site security and be part of the rota to provide a back-up call-out service for all out of hours Fire and Intruder Alarm activations.

    Skills and Experience

    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Electrical installations, encompassing a broad range of skills across commercial, industrial and domestic sectors including fault finding, test and inspection and portable appliance testing. (essential)
    • Experience/background in a Project Management, ideally with some knowledge of CDM applied practices. (desirable)
    • Ability to work on your own initiative and plan & prioritise your individual workload, liaising with personnel at all levels, including Company Directors (essential)
    • Sound Knowledge in Health, Safety and Environmental practises, including conducting Risk Assessments and compiling safe systems of work (desirable)
    • Experienced in the use of powered hand tools (certificated where required)
    • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft computer systems (desirable)


    We are looking for someone who is diligent and has attention to detail, has a proactive Can Do attitude, is self-disciplined in managing their workload and can meet required deadlines, must be a team player and be calm and effective especially during periods of high workloads. You must be able to work at height and in confined spaces, be numerate and literate and have a be physically fit


     It is essential you hold recognised qualifications in the following: 

    • City & Guilds 2365 level 2 & 3 full diploma + NVQ 3 AM2 (or equivalent) as a qualified Electrician
    • 17th Edition IEE regulations BS7671: 2008 (and be prepared to work towards IET regulations BS7671: 2018)
    • Hold a valid UK full driving license


    It would be desirable if you hold the following:


    • City & Guilds 2391-52 (previously 2394/95) and/or proven experience in Periodic Testing, Inspection and Verification of Wiring Systems to BS7671.
    • City & Guilds 2377-22/32m Portable Appliance Testing Certification
    • Forklift truck licence to International Powered Access Foundation (IPAF) standard
    • Mobile Elevated Working Platform (MEWP) licence to International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Standard.
    • Certificate in the erection and use of Mobile Tower Scaffolds to Prefabricated Access Suppliers & Manufacturers Association Standard (PASMA)
    • Certification of Asbestos Awareness and Non-Licensed Asbestos Works (Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012)


    Working Hours: 37 hour basic working week, overtime required as workload dictates, flexibility and call out allowance paid as part of a rota

    Holiday Entitlement: 5 weeks per annum, plus Bank Holiday
