    It is an exciting time at Microlifts, where we are expanding our direct installation teams and providing them with a unique renumeration package that will reward high performance and quality.   This combined with the potential to work flexibly and having a complete development plan, will ensure that we attain our values of putting people first and working to our own standards whilst striving for continuous improvement. 

    The purpose of the role is to assist in the installation and commissioning of all product models within the Microlift business portfolio. This would be done in line with company quality assurance procedures, whilst working alongside a fellow  Installer.  The role involves manual handling and working from heights and travelling across the UK, with some overnight stays. 

    Initially we are looking for two Trainee Installers who are either already in the world of lift engineering, or looking to start a new career.

    • Experience of lift installation practices - desirable

    You must have the ability to communicate well with people at all levels and have good IT Skills eg Microsoft Office

    A ‘Can do’ attitude, take pride in your work and have the ability to multi-task

    A driving license is essential

    Responsibilities

    1. Assist in the collection of lift components, load and transport to site. Collection of components will include checking components issued against job pick-list and general arrangement drawing and completing delivery acceptance form. Driving responsibilities will be expected to be shared as per the Stannah policy.

     

    • Attend site safety induction if provided. Assist in carrying out general site safety check and risk assessment. Under instruction from the Installer, liaise with site agent to confirm lift specification and installation procedure in line with Company Safety Method Statement.
    • In conjunction with the Installer, assist in checking to ensure compliance with company’s Stage 1 Builder’s Drawing and Schedule, to include aperture size and availability of power.

     

     

    1. Assist in unloading lift components and distribute to appropriate floors and assist in installing lift to include:

     

    • Erection of structure
    • Installation of guides
    • Wiring of lift shaft
    • Installation of lift car
    • Fitting and setting of doors
    • Lead an installation if required

     

     

    1. Leave lift installation in a clean and safe condition and reload the van with lift component waste packaging and installation tools.

     

    • Liaise with builder regarding installation acceptance, including company’s requirement for Stage 2 Builders Work together with the procedure for returning the green ‘Return for Commissioning’ form.
    • Complete documentation, including post installation checklist, installation acceptance form together with the removal of the lift printed circuit board.

     

     

    Commissioning

     

    1. Obtain, load and convey to site any items identified on the post installation checklist to enable completion of the commissioning process.

     

    • Attend site safety induction if provided. Carry out general site safety check and risk assessment.
    • On arrival, check builders work has been completed in line with Builders Work Stage 2.

     

    1. Work alongside Commissioning Engineer to carry out commissioning in accordance with test procedure, together with the completion of the Certificate of Test and Examination.

     

    • Carry out lubrication checks and complete Engineer’s Planned Maintenance Report.
    • Conduct basic electrical fault finding if required

     

    1. Instruct user and demonstrate the safe operation and servicing of the lift equipment. Issue User Handbook and obtain signature on Handover Note.

     

    • Return all documentation to Microlifts Installation Department.

     

    This list is not exhaustive and the jobholder will be expected to undertake any duties within their capacity to meet the needs of the business and/or the Installation function.
